Additional Program Information
Did you know that 1 out of 3 American adults have prediabetes? Prediabetes increases your risk of Type 2 Diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. Envision would like to offer you an opportunity to manage your risk before this condition becomes too difficult to manage without medication or complications. If you are interested in the Preventative Diabetes Management class, please contact 248-798-1528 to learn more about the upcoming program.
Cardiac Prevention is open to all patients but is especially encouraged for patients with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or triglycerides, a high coronary calcium score, and/or those with a history or family history of heart diseases, such as heart attack and stroke. The class is currently conducted via Zoom on the second Thursday of every month from 4 -5 p.m. Please contact Kelly Golladay, RD, CM by phone at 248-704-0040 to sign up.
The foods and beverages we choose to eat and drink have huge impacts on our physical, mental, and emotional health. Unfortunately, most Americans don’t meet daily recommendations for fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy. This can increase the risk of diseases, such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, osteoporosis, and certain types of cancer especially as we age. What should you do? If you would like to know more about working toward a healthier lifestyle, consider scheduling an appointment with one of two dietitians at Envision Medical Group. The dietitian can meet with you individually at your primary care provider’s office and discuss any concerns you would like to address. Additionally, the dietitians offer multiple opportunities for group classes. Ask your doctor or primary care office for additional information.
The MyPlate website is a great place to start for healthy eating information. The dietitians at Envision Medical Group can help you to personalize and make sense of great resources such as this to tailor an eating plan to meet your unique health needs.
